Castlerock gets the US Kids Golf North of Ireland Summer Tour under way

The Castlerock Course was in perfect condition with the fairways almost quicker then the greens! It was great to see new players enter the first official U.S. Kids North of Ireland Summer Tour event in addition to those who played in the Spring Tour.

The first of eight events on the U.S. Kids North of Ireland Summer Tour got under way at Castlerock Golf Club with perfect weather conditions for the challenging links. The young players quickly learned to keep the ball on the fairways, those finding the rough now know what links golf is all about. A number of Tour members were still excited by their experience at last week's European Championships in Scotland.

North of Ireland Summer Tour Order of Merit Update

Boys 6 and under

Parker Bonnes continued where he left off in the Spring tour taking 1st place. Parker has now won each of the events he has competed in. Tomas Owens took second place from Sevie Trowlen in third with Freddie Mairs in 4th and Luke McKenna on his tour debut taking 5th place.

Boys 7

Tiernan Bradley got off to a winning start in the Summer Tour with Rory Brown and Rhys McDowell sharing 2nd place. Atharva Rajeshkumar took 4th place from Carter McLarnon in 5th.

Boys 8

Ollie McEvoy continued his good form taking 1st place with Maddox Meers and Lewis McGarry sharing 2nd place. Liam Feeny took 4th with Zac Hay in 5th place. 

Boys 9

David Lyttle had an excellent -1 score in his first appearance in the U.S. Kids North of Ireland Tour taking 1st place. Harry O’Hara took 2nd place from Harris Fleming in 3rd with Zaack Kane taking 4th place and another new player to the tour Ben Todd taking 5th.

Boys 10

Paul Fletcher continued the good form shown in the Spring tour taking 1st place from Stuart Nesbitt in 2nd with Zak McDowell and Oliver Gartley sharing 3rd place. 

Boys 11

 Louis Goodman recorded his first U.S. Kids North of Ireland Summer Tour win from Conor Feeney in 2nd and Jack Boyd in 3rd in his first tour event.

Boys 12

Peter Kelly had a perfect start to the Summer Tour with 1st place from a gallant Michael Wilson who had to retire. 

Boys 13-14

Kaeden Anderson took the honors from Sheà Williamson with Noah Bickerstaff in 3rd place. 

Girls 8-9

This will be a very competitive section and Tegan MacDonald took her first tour win by one shot from Aisling Totton in 2nd. Mollie Douglas was 3rd with Amelia Penrose in 4th and Emma Vinarcik 5th. 

Girls 12-14

Millie Thompson had a perfect start to the U.S. Kids North of Ireland Summer Tour taking 1st place in her first event.
