US Kids Golf North of Ireland Local Tour visits Allen Park Antrim

The US Kids North Of Ireland Spring Local Tour event this week was played at Allen Park Golf Centre Antrim The weather was perfect as was the Allen Park course which was the scene for some great golf from our young stars.

The Allen Park event saw some movement in the Order of Merit. 

Tomas Owens has a firm hold on 1st place in boys under 6 with Jack McKee and Freddie Mairs neck and neck in 2nd and 3rd. Senan Devlin is in 4th and a great debut saw Parker Bonnes take 1st prize on his first appearance on the North of Ireland Spring Tour. Sevie Trowlan and Brody Baird are 6th and 7th but there is much to play for with double points awarded at the Tour Championship in Lurgan.

In Boys 7, there is a real battle with a number of players capable of taking the Order of Merit. Josh Punnose leads Rory Brown by 8 points with Tiernan Bradley and Atharva Rajeshkumar not too far behind. Ollie McEvoy leads the way in boys 8 with four wins from four starts playing impressive golf. Harris Flemming, Adam Doherty and Liam Feeney are in the chasing pack. John William Burke tops boys 9 thanks to two wins from four starts. Eoin Burrows, Scott McCabe, Isaac Oliver and Harry O'Hara are the closest rivals.

Conail Fitzsimonds has a narrow 5.5 point lead from Paul Fletcher in boys 10, however, Oliver Gartley, Evan Carlisle and Harry Flood are close behind. Another battle that will go to the tour Championship is boys 11 currently lead by Eoin McCourt. Thompson Gedge and Conor Culhane are in 2nd and 3rd but 10.5 points is the difference from 1st to 3rd place. Sam Allistar tops boys 12 from Shea Williamson in 2nd place with Jamie Nevin in 3rd. There is a close battle betweer Harvey McCabe, Harry Lockwood and Adam Hamilton who are in 4th, 5th and 6th place. Conal Keenan tops boys 13-14 with Taylor Morrison and Kaeden Anderson sharing 2nd place.

Competition in the girl’s age groups is equally intense. Molly Douglas leads girls 8-9 by 20 points from Aisling Totton followed by Gemma McMeekin in third. Four girls have points in the 30s and could improve in the next two weeks, they are Emma Vinarcik, Tegan MacDonald, Ameila Penrose and Erin Poots. Molly Poots had a great 4th place at Allen Park no doubt there is great competition between the Poots sisters.

Cora and Amy Nicholl are having the closest battle of all the age groups in girls 10-11 and with two rounds to go are tied 1st from Clara Dunlop in 3rd. Ellie O’Melvena and Billy Henry have shared 1st and 2nd places in the events to date and Ellie takes a 10 point advantage into the final two weeks. Aoife Brown is in third with Niamh Quinn in 4th.

The next two weeks will provide great excitement especially with double points on offer at the Tour Championship in Lurgan.
